House of Harlow 1960
House of Harlow 1960 COMING SOON To My Bag And ShoesHouse of Harlow 1960 is a line of jewellery, sunglasses, shoes and bags designed by boho queen, Nicole Richie. The line debuted in 2008 with a range of vintage, tribal, and gypsy influenced jewellery.
The House of Harlow line is incredibly representative of Nicole Richie’s personal style. Richie is a rare breed of celebrity designer, in that she is totally hands on with every element of her business, Richie’s personal touches to the 1960 line are clear to see even in the name House of Harlow, called after Nicole’s daughter, as well as in the distinctive style of her designs, which she herself wears almost daily. The line also has many other celebrity fans, including Madonna, Kim Kardashian, and Ashlee Simpson.
Richie unveiled her first shoe collection for House of Harlow in January of 2010. It was received with excitement by both the press and the public. House of Harlow shoes are produced in many different styles, including high heeled pumps, sandals and platforms, as well as flats, boots, and moccasins. While much variety occurs within the line in terms of the styles of shoe, the decorative effects and inspiration behind the designs remain constant. The shoes take inspiration from all the foundations of Richie’s personal style, including 70’s bohemia, Navajo Indians, geometric patterns, and tribal shapes and colours.
Richie says the philosophy behind her line is that fashion should be accessible and should provide the wearer with a means of fun and self-expression. And the House of Harlow 1960 line, with its individuality and eclecticism, will certainly achieve this aim.
